Evoking the terracotta tradition

Reading time: minutes

Slow rediscovers the aesthetics of traditional terracotta through the six colour variants that recall clays, the sandy texture and the natural, authentic image of the material. Six sizes and two tone-on-tone decors create vibrant-looking floor and wall coverings

Slow is a porcelain stoneware collection inspired by traditional terracotta, reinterpreted with a contemporary twist, which simulates hand-beaten earthenware, deliberately irregular and marked by small imperfections. More than a simple wall covering material, the collection evokes the narrative aspect of terracotta: colours originating from the earth, a distinctive expression of the local area; the tradition of historical homes which, since the Roman Empire, have consolidated the natural, rustic and authentic aesthetics associated with the material; the unmistakable sandy and matt texture that recalls the original components, clays, evoked by the six colour variants in the collection.

This symbolic meaning is interpreted by Slow by combining tactile appeal and performance: the surfaces are frostproof, technical and extremely resistant to mechanical stress. The six sizes, ranging from square to rectangular (120×120 cm, 75×150 cm, 60×120 cm, 80×80 cm in the 2 cm variant, 75×75 cm, 60×60 cm), make it possible to handle multiple spaces and installations. The two decors (Rafia and Tapis), strictly tone-on-tone, propose a decoration carved into the ceramic material with graphic motifs full of refined contrasts. For carpet effects to match smooth surfaces or the Mosaic texture. The more structured Tapis decor is treated with Touch Premium Technology, which enriches the surface with glossy or matt vitreous grits.

The textured and shaded effect of the decors is calibrated, achieved through fine details and optimal use of 3D Ink Premium Technology, which perfectly matches the digital print with the surface structure.
