The Crogiolo Lume collection expands to include rich new structures and four luminous shades that emphasise its intentionally flawed surface covered with a thick layer of glaze. Designed to give interiors that unique, hand-crafted flavour with a high-performance product

The Marazzi Crogiolo collection of small-size tiles has reminded the world of the expressive potential of vivid materials and tactile, deliberately flawed surfaces. Despite being industrial products, the Crogiolo collections evoke the know-how, craftsmanship and willingness to experiment that have shaped the Italian ceramic tradition. In the 1980s Marazzi combined these characteristics in its Crogiolo research centre, to which the collection’s name pays tribute, created to develop new industrial ceramic solutions through the work of artists.

Thanks to its production technology and in-depth research into glazes and colour, Crogiolo Lume transfers all the beauty of hand-made majolica brick tiles to porcelain stoneware. With intense colours, glossy surfaces and a new balance between imperfection and perfection, it is possible to create vibrant interiors, with materials whose tactile surfaces are both visually striking and pleasant to the touch.

The collection now includes four new colours – Emerald, Caramel, Bone and Ocean – in the 6×24 cm size, which complete the chromatic assortment of neutral tones, browns, greens and blues with extremely luminous hues. These additional colours are also available in two three-dimensional structures inspired by ribbed motifs: Swing, with subtler relief patterning that evokes bamboo, and more deeply grooved, rhythmic Rake, its effects underlined by the paler glazes that emphasise its three-dimensional forms. The structures are available in both the new colours and the six shades already in the range – White, Blue, Green, Greige, Off White and Turquoise.

A product certified by Greenguard for its low harmful substance emissions and Declare for the absence of chemicals harmful to health, frost-proof and resistant to deep abrasion, Crogiolo Lume can be used to create artisan-effect coverings, offering a contemporary take on the distinctive characteristics of ceramics in their purest form. For surface effects and colour combinations that enhance any classic or contemporary interior.
