The interior design colours and trends for 2018 from Europe's latest specialist exhibitions

The start of the new year has seen the first specialist shows in the sector, which have defined themain interior design trends for 2018.
The stands and products featured at Maison&Objet in Paris and IMMin Cologne on the one hand displayed very natural materials and shades, with a green mood, while on the other hand proclaiming thecomeback of colour, including even bright, eye-catching shades, combined with striking decorative effects.

So what are the main interior design trends for 2018?

There is a strong fashion forbright, eye-catching colours. Starting from bright red, one of the key ingredients of the latest furnishing and interior design ideas, but also including lemon yellow, green and various shades of blue. Also beginning to put in an appearance is purple, a colour that has not been particularly popular in recent years but which has been relaunched in a big way by Pantone.

For lovers of bright colours, Marazzi offers its new Hello collection, a ceramic tile series inspired by“subway tiles”,in an assortment of trendy, attractive hues, in addition to the timeless black and white, and the small, classic, rectangular format, easy to lay in different geometric compositions.

Another very clear trend is experimentation with new decorative effects, for adding to the beauty of interiors with different materials and patterns and not with colour alone.

During 2018 themetal look continues to be fashionable, with a prevalence of touches of gold and brass, referencing the luxurious mood of the Twenties. With the Mineral collection, Marazzi explores a new iridescent metallic look applied to porcelain stoneware.

Another key trend for 2018 is the use ofdecorative patterns. Geometrical patterns, irregular patterns inspired by materials such as Venetian Terrazzo and marble, and exquisite oriental-style patterns, all for mixing and matching in interior design.
Responding perfectly to this trend, Marazzi offers its new Grand Carpet collection, design by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, a sophisticated, innovative pattern that combines technology with inspirations from the ancient East. Pinch, on the other hand, is a stoneware with the highly fashionable patterning and look of Venetian Terrazzo. Completing the assortment,D_Segni covers stoneware with a wealth of different decorative patterns: geometrical, floral, vintage, micro and macro, for an ever-changing mix of ideas.
