Berlin marks the first stage of the German Roadshow.
Sunday 20 May 2012
The first stage of the German Roadshow, a project directed at architects organised by Marazzi in association with AIT, one of Germany’s most respected architecture magazines, starts from Berlin on 23 May.
Marazzi will meet Berlin’s architects at the Umspannwerk, a renovated former power station in the Kreuzberg district, one of the city’s most avant-garde and cosmopolitan.
During the evening, at which Marazzi will be presenting some of the latest made in Italy collections, including Progetto Triennale, Treverk Home and ColorUp, the architects will be invited to take part in a little competition where they can have fun using all their creativity: they will be asked to make a jigsaw puzzle using a number of small-size Triennale tiles. The idea judged to be most original by the jury comprising the architect Fabio Novembre, Gianluca Rossi (Marazzi Artistic Director) and the Editor of AIT magazine will win a small gift of traditional Emilia-Romagna food and wine specialities. After Berlin the Roadshow will move on to Hamburg and then Frankfurt.
Der keramische Roboter (the ceramic robot) by Richard Dabrowsky, ein Herz (a heart) by Birgit Fabrizius and ein Kreuz-zle (a cross-puzzle) by Walter Schlombs were the compositions judged by Gianluca Rossi, Marazzi Artistic Manager and Fabio Novembre, the evening’s guest architect, to be the best ideas produced in the “creative game” organised last Wednesday in Berlin to mark the German Roadshow’s first stage.
