The Brasilia Apartment project, conceived by Studio Madera, transforms a 1960s apartment in Madrid’s Guindalera district into an open-plan, multifunctional space. Utilising Marazzi’s stone-effect tile collections, the space is enriched with a refined palette and materials that combine a robust aesthetic with sobriety and timeless style.

In the heart of Madrid, the Guindalera district preserves stories intertwined with the city’s charm. Here, Studio Madera chose to breathe new life into a 1960s apartment, transforming it into a fluid, social space imbued with a contemporary essence. The guiding concept sought the perfect balance between functionality and beauty, emphasising a restrained palette of materials that evoke robustness and elegance.

The kitchen, the nerve centre of the apartment’s social life, is distinguished by the harmonious integration of Marazzi products. The floor is clad with Mystone Ceppo di Gré Grey porcelain stoneware tiles, which evoke the material richness typical of natural grey-blue stone. This material not only conveys robustness but is also synonymous with elegance and sophistication.

Completing the kitchen, the backsplash, crafted from large slabs of the Grande Stone Look collection in the same Ceppo di Gré finish, adds a note of aesthetic continuity and refinement. The stone-effect surfaces are distinguished by details that recall the shades and veins typical of natural stone, creating an atmosphere that is both welcoming and refined.

The two collections are distinguished not only by their natural beauty but also by their exceptional technical qualities. They offer outstanding resistance to wear and the passage of time, making them ideal for spaces subject to heavy use, such as kitchens. The surfaces are designed for easy maintenance, preserving the elegance of the spaces.

Thanks to advanced treatments, these collections provide stain resistance and hygienic surfaces, perfectly suited to the demands of contemporary living. Moreover, sustainability is a core value, with materials manufactured to high environmental standards, reflecting a commitment to responsible and conscientious design.
