The "Via Cavour" project, conceived by Studio Subconscio, is distinguished by the creation of an open-plan space that unites kitchen, dining, and living areas within a warm and refined setting. Through the use of Marazzi porcelain stoneware collections, the space embodies a seamless fusion of everyday functionality, tactile aesthetics, and stylistic coherence.
The "Via Cavour" project is designed to harmonise the practicality of daily living with a design that honours warm, natural aesthetics. The open-plan environment has been crafted to serve as a welcoming space that fosters conviviality while preserving a clear functional division. Studio Subconscio has selected materials capable of interpreting tradition through a contemporary lens, creating a harmonious dialogue between warm textures, balanced hues, and refined details.
The flooring unifies the living room and kitchen with the porcelain stoneware collection Slow, in the Decoro Rafia Cotto design, measuring 75x75 cm. "We chose the Slow collection for the flooring because we wanted a material that evokes Mediterranean tradition, yet speaks a modern and versatile language," explain the designers. The Rafia design is distinguished as a refined contemporary reinterpretation of textile weaves. Its texture evokes the delicacy and complexity characteristic of woven fabrics, imparting a sense of craftsmanship and warmth to the spaces. This detail imparts the flooring with a unique visual and tactile quality, enriching each environment with a sense of authenticity and refinement. The natural light reflected by this flooring enhances the overall brightness, while simultaneously accentuating the wood of the wall units and the deep blue cladding.
The kitchen is further distinguished by the backsplash crafted from the Crogiolo Terramater collection in the colour Laguna. "The intense blue of the Terramater collection enabled us to create a visual contrast that emphasises the texture of the terracotta and wood," notes Studio Subconscio. This vertical cladding, composed of 60% recycled material, replicates the artisanal ceramics of the past with subtly textured surfaces that interact with light and add visual depth.
"Beyond the aesthetic aspect, we valued the durability and ease of maintenance of both materials, which are essential in a daily setting," the designers emphasise. Both collections embody Marazzi’s commitment to sustainability, through advanced production processes dedicated to environmental protection. "For us, sustainability is not simply an added value, but an essential criterion in the selection of materials," affirm Studio Subconscio. This consideration was pivotal in the choice of materials, ensuring a responsible and enduring design.
