How we take our shared value abroad

Reading time: minutes

In order to export our products and our vision of sustainability around the world, we have adopted specific policies and obtained certifications which comply with the rules in force in different geographical areas. From Asia to the United States, passing through Europe and the Middle East, every certification increases the value of our collections and allows us to make inroads into new markets.

CE Marking

CE marking is mandatory for all construction products which fall within the scope laid out by Regulation (EU) 305/2011, the CPR, and certifies that all our collections meet the safety requirements laid out by the EU, a well as the essential minimum requirements provided for in the regulation.

UKCA Marking

We meet the requirements for UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking, which certifies the safety of products placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), demonstrating their compliance with the technical regulations in force in the country.
UKCA is Britain’s product marking introduced in 2021 to replace CE marking following Brexit.

CCC Certification

China Compulsory Certification is the certification required for selling porcelain stoneware tiles throughout the Chinese market. Introduced in 2002, CCC certification applies to products both imported to and produced locally for sale in the country’s market.

A large proportion of our collections guarantee health and safety by meeting CCC product class A, relating to the emission of radiation, which is mandatory for installation of tiles in certain public environments such as hospitals, nurseries and public structures.

QB- UPEC

Over 100 Marazzi collections meet UPEC requirements, the French technical quality mark issued by the CSTB institute. Products with this mark comply with regulation NF EN 14411 and meet the resistance to foot traffic wear (U), mechanical resistance to movement of fixed and mobile objects (P), presence of water (E) and chemical substances (C) in accordance with their intended use, guaranteeing the highest levels of safety.

Some of the ranges have also obtained QB-UPEC F+ certification for raised paving installation on pedestals.

SASO-ISO 13006

SASO-ISO 13006 is the standard implemented by SASO (Saudi Arabian Standards Organization) for the export of tiles to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Quality Mark (SQM) is the mark granted to products which meet Saudi quality standards.

GPP

We are registered with Confindustria Ceramica (the Italian Ceramics Industrialists’ Association) as qualified under the GPP (Good Phytosanitary Practices) programme for the control and shipment of ceramic tiles destined for the USA, guaranteeing the absence of biological contaminants in the material, packaging and containers in which they are transported.
Similar measures are also adopted for Australia and New Zealand.

NSF/ANSI 51

NSF/ANSI 51 certification is issued by the American National Standard for Food Equipment – the independent organisation which certifies products for the food area in private and commercial catering – in confirmation of the quality and composition of the raw materials used to produce the large porcelain stoneware slabs.

NSF establishes the requirements a product must fulfil to ensure that it does not shed hazardous or toxic substances – such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead – into foods, and is easy to sanitise and maintain.

A large proportion of Marazzi’s The Top slabs hold NSF/ANSI 51 certification, guaranteeing high international food safety standards for surfaces from the collection used as storage and work surfaces.
What’s more, the NSF/ANSI 51 certification marks guarantee that production formulae constantly comply with the specifications, since the certifying body may perform audits at any time without notice.
